Nirmala’s Story — life of women in rural Sindh

Look at me and my condition; I am just 22 years old. I am already the mother of two children and expecting the third one. Look at the condition of our village; we don’t have any modern or basic facilities required to live a good life such as electricity, hospital, or quality educational institute near our village .

’I have lost my first baby just because I could not afford to go to a better hospital. I felt so vulnerable and helpless that day; I can’t forget that for the rest of my life. ‘’

I wish we could shift to a city for opportunities, but unfortunately, we can’t afford to move. Therefore, I can only dream about educating my children in a reputable school; however, I can’t turn this dream into reality.

Please, build a school in our village so that our children could get a quality education and live a comfortable life. In my childhood, I used to think that I will be a doctor like my father one day and will serve the needy people around me as he did.

Now, I wonder how ignorant I was as a child of the realities of the societies I live in.
I wish I could still go back to my childhood and get a chance to study as you did.
